Athiya Shetty is an Indian actress who has starred in Bollywood films. She is the daughter of a famous Indian actor, producer Sunil Sethi. His mother was born to a Punjabi Hindu mother and a Gujarati Muslim. Shetty studied at Cathedral and John Connon School, then moved to the American School in Bombay. There he appeared in plays alongside Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. At the age of 18, she moved to New York alone to enroll at the New York Film Academy because she wanted to star in films.

Shetty made her acting debut in the romantic action film Hero, directed by Nikhil Advani, a remake by co-producer Subhash Ghai. The film, produced by Salman Khan and co-written by Advani and Umesh Bist, grossed a total of 34.82 million rupees ($ 4.6 million). She played the aspiring dancer Radha Mathur who lives in Mumbai. She played the role of a simple Punjabi girl named Binkle Sandhu who falls in love of Charan (Arjun Kapoor), but her wedding is arranged with Charan’s twin brother Karan.
He wants to marry his love interest’s Sweety (D Cross). Shetty played the role of Anita “Annie” in Devamitra Biswal’s comedy-drama, the main character of the story was a young woman, desperate to travel abroad. Shetty has promised to appear in football player Afshan Ashiq’s biopic Hope Solo, in which she will play the title role.
