Domestic Career :-
In the 2010/11 season, Rahul made his debut in the main cricket team with Karnataka. In the same season, he represented his country at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2010 and scored a total of 143 points. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2013 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the domestic 2013/14 season he scored 1,033 first-class points, the second-best scorer this season. He scored 188 goals in the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy final against Tamil Nadu and ended the season averaging 93.11 in the nine games he played.
International Career :-
Rahul Test debut at Melbourne Cricket Ground. He replaced Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni gave him his test cap. He beat number six and scored three runs in the first inning; In the second inning, he played No. 3 and had only one point, but kept his place for the next Test in Sydney, where he opened the innings with Murali Vijay and ran his first international career with 110 points. Rahul played a few innings and then set a record by scoring the fastest century. He is the first player in T20I history to score a century (110 ) by hitting 4 or less. On July 3, 2018. He is also the first Indian hitter to be licensed in T20I.
Rahul was added to the testing team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but was not selected for the first two tests in Game 11. He injured himself in training and was out for the rest of the tour. He missed the home Test against England in 2021 due to this injury. However, he fought with the bat.
Indian Premier League :-
Rahul made his IPL debut as the goalkeeper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2013. In the 2014 edition, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for Rs 1 crore. In 2016 he returned to the RCB. That season, he scored 398 points in 14 games, finishing 11th with the most points at the event and third with the most points at the RCB. For his athletic ability in the 2016 IPL season, he was rated an IPL XI goalkeeper by Cricinfo and CricketBuzz. Rahul was unable to play in the 2017 season due to a shoulder injury.
Rahul will take over the post of captain of the Kings XI Punjab from IPL 2020 after former captain Ravichandran Ashwin moves to the capital Delhi. He scored 132 unbeaten in 69 balls against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on September 24, 2020. This is his second century in the IPL. For this century, as an Indian player in the IPL, he holds the record for most races in a single game. He also holds the record for the most points in a single game as captain of the IPL.
