Mashrafe Mortaza is one of the most successful captain in Bangladesh. His fast and aggressive bowling on the U19 team caught the attention of former West Indian fast bowler Andy Roberts, who was the team’s interim bowling coach at the time. On the advice of Roberts, Mashrafe was accepted into the Bangladesh A-Team. After playing only one match for the Bangladesh senior team, Mashrafe got a chance to represent Bangladesh in the national team after seeing his performance. He made his test debut against Zimbabwe on November 8, 2001, at Bangabandhu National Stadium. Khaled Mahmood also made his debut in the same game. In his third personal test against England, he injured his knee. This forced him to stay away from cricket for almost two years. He passed the second Test against England. After taking 4 wickets for 60 races, he injured his knee again. During this trip, he didn’t have to stay on the pitch for almost a year.

Player Life :-

Mortaza is one of the most successful rhythm bowlers in Bangladesh. His fast and aggressive bowling on the U19 team caught the attention of former West Indian fast bowler Andy Roberts, who was the team’s interim bowling coach at the time. On the advice of Roberts, Mashrafe was accepted into the Bangladesh A-Team. He has been the captain of the national team since Mashrafe bin Mortuza performed very well in the senior team. He made his test debut against Zimbabwe on November 8, 2001, at Bangabandhu National Stadium. Khaled Mahmood also made his debut in the same game. The game was not solved because of the rain. However, Mashrafe debuted in his debut with 4 wickets for 106 races.

Mashrafe was excluded from the squad due to 11 injuries during his 18-year career. The injury took away the 2011 World Cup. In the third game of the ODI Rocket Bangladesh-England 2017 series, he took 2 wickets and a total of 217 wickets, making him the largest recipient of ODI wickets in Bangladesh.

 

 

National Team Captain :-

In early 2009, Mashrafe was Captain Mohammad Ashraful’s assistant. He succeeds Mohammad Ashraful in June of the same year and is replaced by Shakib Al Hasan. However, in his first game against the West Indies as captain, he left the field with a knee injury. Bangladesh won the game but Mashrafe was sidelined until February 2010 due to an injury. Shakib Al Hasan later captained Bangladesh in that match. In November 2014 he was renewed in the home series against Zimbabwe. This time, however, he only took on an international match and this time Shakib Al Hasan took over the responsibility as assistant.

He is also the captain of Bangladesh at the 2015 World Cup. After ODI’s third game against the guest in Zimbabwe on March 7, 2020, he resigned as captain of the ODI team. He confirmed in the press conference before the game that he would continue to play even if he left the captaincy with a win in the last ODI. The 36-year-old leader, imbued with the love of his colleagues, led the team in 6 ODIs and won 50 (win rate: 56.8).

 

 

Political Life :-

Mashrafe was elected as a Member of Parliament from Narail-2 constituency in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election held in 2016 on behalf of the Bangladesh Awami League. This is the first time in the world that a country has been nominated and won while being the captain of a national team in any sport. He collected nomination forms for the Mashrafe Narail-2 constituency in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election on November 11, 2018, under the banner of the Awami League. He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Narail-2 constituency in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election held on December 30, 2016, with 261210 votes.
