Nasiruddin Shah was born on 20 July 1950 in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, India to a Muslim family. His father Ale Mohammad Shah and his mother Farrukh Sultan. Nasiruddin’s elder brother Lieutenant-General Jamirud-Din Shah (Retd.) Was the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University. His son Mohammad Ali Shah is an actor. He studied at St. Anselm’s Azam and St. Joseph’s College in Nainital. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Aligarh Muslim University in 1971 and received acting training at the National School of Drama in Delhi. He is a very successful actor in both mainstream Hindi films and art films. Shah has won multiple awards in his career. For his contribution to Indian cinema, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 1987 and the Padma Bhushan in 2003.

Career :-
He made his debut with a small role in the film Aman with Rajendra Kumar and Saira Banu. In 1982 he starred alongside Rakhee in the film Dil Aakhir Dil Hai, directed by Ismail Shroff. His next big hit in mainstream cinema was the multi-star film Karma in 1986, in which he starred alongside veteran Dilip Kumar. He starred with Aditya Pancholi in such films as Maalamaal (1988) and Game (1993). [Citation required] Shah was best known for his roles in Sarfarosh with Aamir Khan in 1999, where he played Gulfam Hassan, a ghazal brains singer and terrorist, and in A Wednesday by Neeraj Pandey (2008).
He worked on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Indian adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth entitled Maqbool in 2003 and Rajiv Rais Asambhav alongside Arjun Rampal and Priyanka Chopra in 2004. He then worked on The Great New Wonderful (2005). In 2011, Shah appeared in The Dirty Picture. He starred in Anup Kurian’s The Blueberry Hunt, a retired hermit who grows marijuana in the forest, and Waiting with Kalki Koechlin, both released in 2016. Shah made his Pakistani film debut in Shoaib Mansoor’s Khuda Ke Liye, where he made a cameo.
