Early Life :-
Root’s brother Billy is a young cricketer at the MCC. He is the eldest son of Hélène and Matt. His grandfather Geoff Root was the captain of the Rotherham Cricket Club in the Yorkshire League for many years. But Joe followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club. There he caught the attention of a Yorkshire youth coach and played for the Yorkshire Schools team at the age of 11. He attended Workshop College in North Nottinghamshire and received a scholarship to play cricket. In his first season, he scored over 2,000 points, with an average of over 50.
Playing Life :-
Root made his England debut during the 2012-2013 India Tour. Former English all-rounder Paul Collingwood won 655th place. With racket no. 8 he scored 63 points with 229 balls. Along with Kevin Pietersen, he also became the team’s top scorer, bringing the team’s total to 330 points. An unbeaten 20 in the second set led the team to a tie that took a record number of points to win.
