Anil Kapoor made his Bollywood film debut in a small role in Umesh Mehra’s Hamare Tumhare (1989). He gained recognition in Bollywood for his role as Tapuri in Yash Chopra’s drama Mashaal (1974), for which he won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
